Air France Rome Vintage Travel Advertising Poster

Air France Rome authentic vintage travel poster is advertising elevated to fine art. This vintage airline collector must-have was designed by French artist Jacques Nathan Garamond (1910-2001). He would sign his posters “Nathan” as you can see at the left side of this poster. It was printed using lithography in approximately 1959 for Air France to advertise flying Air France to visit Rome. The choice of colour palette and simplified shapes are inspired by cubist art, and create a fresh, modern take on the ancient Roman architecture.
Air France Rome has been conservation linenbacked and restored (a few very small edge tears are flawlessly repaired). It measures 24 3/4 inches by 39 1/16 inches (62.8 cm by 99.4 cm).
